Trusting the Lord, One Step at a Time: Summer with Samaritan’s Purse & Big Milestones Ahead!

Hi friends & family!

As many of you know, I’ve been spending my summer interning with Samaritan’s Purse on the Site Leadership Team (SLT)—and it’s been nothing short of incredible. I can confidently say that this season is shaping me in powerful ways as I prepare to launch onto the World Race this fall. Each day, I’m reminded of God’s faithfulness and how He goes before us in every step.

🛠️ Interning with the SLT: Training, Growth, and Gospel-Centered Leadership

Through this internship, I’ve been immersed in hands-on training to help lead volunteer teams into disaster zones. It’s been humbling and empowering all at once. We’ve walked through modules on servant leadership, resilience, logistics, team development, and so much more. Each training session pushes me to grow deeper in my understanding of what it means to lead like Jesus—with humility, intentionality, and love.

But what has marked this summer even more than the training has been the people. The full-time SLT staff members I’ve had the privilege of learning from are not only skilled and wise—they have beautiful hearts to serve the Lord and love others with compassion and strength. Their commitment to sharing the hope of Jesus in the wake of disaster is something I’ll carry with me long after this summer ends.

🚐Deployment: Serving in Ohio County, West Virginia!

I’m currently deployed in Ohio County, West Virginia, helping with flood recovery efforts and serving alongside an incredible team. We’re working directly with families impacted by the recent flooding—cleaning out homes, offering hope, and sharing the love of Christ in every conversation. Please be praying for open doors to share the gospel, for unity on our team, and for God to continue softening hearts both in the community and within each of us.

Intern Life in Wilkes: Sweet Friendships & Shared Purpose

Interning in Wilkesboro, NC has brought me into a sweet little community of fellow interns. We’ve prayed together, grown together, shared meals, and encouraged each other through every challenge and victory. These friendships have made this summer even sweeter, and I’m grateful for the laughter, vulnerability, and the shared desire we all have to walk in God’s calling.

🎉A Huge Milestone: Almost 25% Funded!

Thanks to your generosity and support, I’ve officially reached 24% of my fundraising goal for the World Race—just 1% away from hitting my next big milestone! This is such an encouraging answer to prayer and a reminder that God provides in every season. My goal is to reach 25% by the 4th of July, and I’d love your continued partnership—whether through prayer, giving, or sharing my story with others who may want to be part of this journey!

🎒Packing Up the Journey

Another exciting update: I ordered and received my World Race backpacks! That moment made everything feel real. I’ve started organizing and prepping my gear, and there’s something so special about beginning to pack for this adventure—knowing that soon I’ll be carrying these bags across the world to share the love of Jesus in 11 different countries.

🙏 Prayer Points

As I continue walking this journey, would you consider praying with me over the following?

  • Deployment to Ohio County, WV – for fruitful ministry, safety, and opportunities to share the gospel boldly and lovingly.

  • World Race preparation – that God would prepare my heart and the hearts of those in my future squad to serve and grow together.

  • This internship season – that God would continue to use Samaritan’s Purse to bring hope to hurting communities, and that He would lead me well through every assignment and relationship.

I am so grateful to each one of you walking with me on this journey—whether through prayer, encouragement, or support. Every step I take toward the mission field is made possible by your faithfulness and God’s unending grace. Thank you for believing in what God is doing and for being a part of it.

With a full heart,
Amanda Naudus
