Trusting God in the Transition: Bittersweet Goodbyes & Bold New Beginnings

Hi friends & family!

What a whirlwind this season has been! As summer comes to a close, I’ve been reflecting on the unexpected ways God continues to guide my steps. My internship with Samaritan’s Purse North American Ministries Disaster Relief officially ended in August. Just days later, I had the privilege of joining the disaster relief team in San Angelo, TX for a week and a half, helping families recover from devastating flooding.

This extra time in the field was both humbling and energizing. It reminded me that ministry does not end when a title or internship does. God simply opens new doors to serve.

🏘 San Angelo Deployment: Learning to Say Yes

When my internship wrapped up, I thought my time with Samaritan’s Purse had come to an end. But just a few days later, I got the call to serve in San Angelo, Texas, and without much hesitation, I packed a bag and went. Serving there was a beautiful reminder of what happens when you simply say yes to the Lord. God placed me in a warm, Spirit-filled community where volunteers and staff poured out love on families who had lost so much. Each day was a living picture of obedience, loving people right where they are, showing up even when it’s uncomfortable, and trusting that God equips us for every assignment He gives.

San Angelo was also a sweet reunion and a season of new connections. I reconnected with friends from earlier this summer and formed new friendships that quickly felt like family. Sharing meals, working long days in the Texas heat, and praying together knit our hearts closely. It reminded me how God brings the right people at the right time, sometimes just for a season and sometimes for a lifetime.

The families we served, the prayers we shared, and the unity of our team left a deep mark on my heart. I walked away with a clearer understanding that being available to God is often far more important than feeling fully prepared.

🛠️ Internship Reflections: More Than I Could Have Asked For

Serving with Samaritan’s Purse has been one of the most transformative seasons of my life. I learned so much about leadership, prayer, and reliance on God while walking alongside incredible staff and volunteers who live out their faith daily.

Saying goodbye to this season wasn’t easy, but my heart is overflowing with gratitude. The internship stretched me, deepened my faith, and grounded me in humility. After my unexpected time in Texas, I am stepping away more equipped, hopeful, and aware of God’s presence in every detail.

🌍 WorldRace Update: Launching in Just Weeks!

With this chapter closing, my focus is shifting fully toward launching onto the WorldRace in just a few weeks.

🎉 Fundraising Update:

I have reached 49% of my fundraising goal and am praying to hit 55% very soon. Your prayers, generosity, and encouragement mean more than words can say. Every gift reminds me that this mission is not just mine—it’s something we are doing together.

🎒 Learning to Let Go of Comfort

The past few weeks have been filled with trial, error, and plenty of laughter as I prepare to live minimally on the Race. I even brought my World Race backpacks with me to San Angelo to practice living out of them. It was a great test run—figuring out what I actually need, what I can do without, and how to stay organized on the go. I’ve learned how to set up my tent, cut down what I once thought was essential, and say yes to God even when it means giving up comfort. He keeps reminding me that dependence on Him begins where my own resources end.

⛺ Training Camp: What’s Next

Before launching overseas, I will spend two weeks at Training Camp in Georgia with my entire squad. Training Camp is designed to challenge us spiritually, emotionally, and physically. We will be living outdoors, following a shower schedule, learning to live simply, and spending our days packed with prayer and team-building.

Our phones will be turned in during the day so we can press into the Lord without distractions. By the end of camp, we will walk away with deeper intimacy with God, stronger community, and hearts ready for whatever He calls us to on the field. It will be stretching, but I know it will also be life-changing.

🙏 How You Can Pray

As launch approaches, I would love your prayers for:

  • Spiritual strength and protection – I have felt the weight of spiritual warfare recently. Please pray for peace, clarity, and courage.

  • Provision – Pray that God would meet every need as I continue fundraising.

  • Training Camp and my squad – Pray for unity, joy, and transformation as we step into this season together.

To everyone who has prayed, given, or simply cheered me on—thank you. I carry your support with me into every country, every moment of ministry, and every step of faith. You are part of this mission.

“The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew 26:41)

Even though my flesh longs for comfort, my spirit is ready to follow God’s call. I am trusting Him to give me the strength to step forward each day, whether that is in Texas, at Training Camp, or on the other side of the world.
