Asking the Lord & Watching Him Provide
We entered Greece after leaving North Macedonia carrying a familiar posture: ATL, Ask the Lord. This season has continued to invite us into deeper trust, daily surrender, and obedience without a script. ATL means choosing to listen before we move, to follow without knowing all the details, and to believe that Godโs voice is enough.
Greece has been a place where the Lord has not only spoken, but provided, often at the very last moment. This season has reminded me that obedience is not about control or certainty, but about faithfulness. And faithfulness often grows most when the outcome feels uncertain.
๐๏ธ Serving Behind the Scenes: Logistics & Trust
On our squad, I serve on logistics, which means I help plan and coordinate major details for our entire team. One of our biggest responsibilities is organizing squad debrief, a full week where our entire squad comes together to rest, reflect, switch teams, grow in community, receive mentorship, and prepare for the next country.
Debrief is sacred ground. It is a space for worship, processing, healing, and vision. Coaches and mentors fly in from the States to pour into us, and we also use this time to plan travel into the next nation. Itโs a lot of moving pieces, and much of it happens quietly behind the scenes.
More than planning, logistics has become a front row seat to watching the Lord provide in ways only He can.
โณ When the Plan Fell Apart
For a month leading up to debrief in North Macedonia, another squad member and I prayed and planned every detail. The Lord was providing step by step. Everything seemed secure until two days before debrief was supposed to begin.
Our lodging for a squad of over twenty people fell through.
Not only that, but we lost half of our lodging budget, leaving us unable to afford most other options. Panic set in quickly. The timeline was tight, and the responsibility felt heavy.
For the next two days, we ran through the city of Skopje, praying as we walked, calling hostels and hotels, visiting places in person, and asking the Lord what to do next. We had no backup plan, only trust.
The night before debrief began, the Lord moved.
My logistics partner was able to negotiate with a hotel, bringing the cost down enough for us to stay. At the very last moment, we had a place.
๐จ Holy Ground in an Unexpected Place
That hotel became so much more than just lodging.
Not only were we able to be together as a full squad, but we were placed in one of the busiest areas of the city, right near our meeting space. The location opened doors for continued relationships from ATL, new conversations, and unexpected ministry opportunities.
What felt like a crisis turned out to be a divine appointment.
Through this experience, the Lord reminded me again that His timeline is not my own. He does not simply meet our needs, He exceeds them when we ask. Watching Him provide at the last moment grew my faith and taught me deeper surrender.
๐ฌ๐ท Walking Through History & Hearts in Greece
ATL in Greece has been full of adventure and holy moments. From exploring Thessaloniki, to visiting modern day Kavala (Philippi), to walking through Corinth, we have seen the Lordโs heart for His people again and again.
Greece holds so much biblical history, yet many people remain unreached. Even so, we have been met with incredible kindness and openness.
In Thessaloniki, we met an American college student named Alex who is studying theology. He showed us historical sites and shared about his background in Greek Orthodoxy. When we later traveled to Philippi, Alex hosted us, taking us to local hot springs, showing us around, and introducing us to friends.
We were able to share the gospel with him and those around him, and we were deeply blessed by their generosity and hospitality.
โ Finding Home in Small Places
In Corinth, ministry looked simple: coffee shops, conversations, and presence. One thing about the race is learning to find spaces that feel like home.
One coffee shop became that place for me. I met the owners and their daughter, and somehow walked away with free plants. Their shop was filled with plants and propagations, and their daughter quickly became my little best friend. She reminded me of my nieces back home.
What made this moment even sweeter is that I had been praying beforehand that the Lord would bless me with a plant, something small to remind me of home while on the race. Once again, the Lord answered in a personal and unexpected way.
Just this past week, we spent time in the historic part of Corinth, meeting locals and being treated to coffee. On our way back, we met a man whose heart was open to hearing the gospel, leading to deep and meaningful conversations.
๐ฅ Asking the Lord, Again & Again
This time in Greece has reignited my faith and deepened my fire for the gospel. The Lord continues to show me that when I ask, surrender, and trust, even when the plan falls apart, He is already at work.
ATL is teaching me that obedience does not require clarity, only willingness. And when we ask the Lord, He is faithful to answer, often in ways far greater than we could imagine.
๐ Ways You Can Pray
โข For continued trust in the Lordโs timing
โข For hearts to remain soft and receptive to the gospel
โข For boldness paired with humility
โข For endurance and joy in leadership and logistics
โข For divine appointments and open conversations
โข For continued unity and spiritual growth within our squad
๐ Kingdom Moments: Asking & Trusting
โTrust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.โ โ Proverbs 3:5โ6
Living ATL means trusting God even when the path is unclear. It means believing that He is already ahead of us, preparing places, people, and provision. Greece has become another reminder that when we ask the Lord and follow Him, we step into stories far greater than anything we could plan on our own.
With so much love,
